Our Favourite Spots On Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is one of those must do’s when you are visiting South Australia and every time we book a personal group tour to the island, we often get asked what our favourite spots to visit are. So we put our heads together to come up with some of our favourite spots on Kangaroo Island that we reckon you must see during your tour.
Seal Bay
Seal Bay is one location not to be missed. It is one of the top tourist attractions and it isn’t hard to see why – where else do you get to see sea lions in the wild? You can join a guided tour onto the beach, or do a self-guided tour on the wheelchair accessible boardwalk.
Remarkable Rocks
The Remarkable Rocks is another popular stop for many visitors to Kangaroo Island. The cluster of granite boulders look like they could topple at any time, but in fact, these rocks have been shaped through erosion from wind, sea spray and rain over 500 million years. Our guests often remark on the orange lichen covering some of the rocks and how great it looks in their photos.
Kingscote Jetty
What better place to kick back, relax and have some lunch in the middle of exploring Kangaroo Island. This is a great place to watch fishermen reel in a fish, grab some photos and watch sea lions lazing and dolphins playing. While you can’t swim here, there is a tidal pool not far away where you can take a dip on a warm day.
Kangaroo Island Spirits
No trip to Kangaroo Island is complete without a stop at Kangaroo Island Spirits. As Australia’s first dedicated gin distillery, and they have stuck to their craft, creating some lovely gin flavours including the award winning O’Gin, Mulberry Gin, and Wild Gin. Kangaroo Island Spirits also make a range of vodkas, including a samphire, lime and pepper, and liqueur including a Hone and Walnut flavoured drop. Enjoy a tasting and pick up some delicious products to take home.
Kangaroo Island is a magical place, and really worth exploring – there is so much more than the few things we’ve mentioned here. If you’d like to experience Kangaroo Island, contact Bums on Seats today and book your KI Personal Group Tour.
