Essential Hens Day Planning Tips

hens party

There’s nothing more exciting than a wedding, but the hens’ party certainly ranks up there. Often planning the hen’s party is left to the maid of honour and the bridesmaids. But if you’ve never planned one before, you might be a little lost on where to start.

We’ve been to a few hen’s parties and we’ve had the honour of whisking brides and their guests away for the day, so we’ve put together some great tips to help you plan a hen’s party.

Guest List

Even as the maid of honour or bridesmaid, there’s a good chance you aren’t going to know all the guests the bride would like invited along for the day or night. Get the bride to make up a list of who she wants to attend her hen party – it means you don’t forget anyone, and you don’t invite anyone the bride would rather not be there.

Location & Length

Some choose just to have a day or night out while others will book a weekend away to celebrate. Choosing your location and length of the hen party early is important, particularly if you need to give people notice to get time off work, and ensure they have care for their children.

Budget

The budget is probably one of the more important parts about organising a hens party. If you’re on a tight budget, daytime events may be cheaper than night time, while staying local will also save you more money than heading away for a weekend.

Activities

When you have your guest list, you can decide which activities will be best. Depending on the bride, activities like a wine tour or lunch is popular while for the more adventurous, a day out go karting before heading for dinner is a great way to spend the day.

The Food Factor

Whether your hens party is going to including drinking or night, ensuring there is enough food is important. Check with all guests to see if there are any allergies or dietary requirements before booking to avoid hungry and unhappy attendees.
